This class is to build, maintain, and preserve balance and strength. 

Using chairs, walls, and other props that are useful for adapting the postures to individual abilities, we find our way to practicing postures that help strengthen and stretch muscles essential for balance, both static balance - the ability to stand in one spot without swaying, and dynamic balance - the ability to anticipate and react to changes as you move. 

Strengthening our balance skills is a wonderful way to prevent falls. However, an often overlooked benefit is how balancing positively affects the mind and brain. Studies have shown that challenges to coordination, agility and balance rewire the brain, and enhances “higher” brain functions like reading, memory, comprehension, and mathematics.

This class is accessible for all levels. Postures can also be practiced on the floor.
